What Is Famanon?

Families Anonymous is a world-wide collaboration of family and friends who have been hurt due to somebody else's abuse of mind-altering substances or behavioural problems. Fam Anon offer support groups gatherings, on a regular basis, throughout the country. Even if the issue is only suspected, any worried individual is stimulated to attend these gatherings.

Fam Anon was established by a group of families in America in 1971. In 1980 the first group in London was founded now there are over 50 groups holding meetings in various parts of the country.

Fam Anon fellowship member groups are self-help organization that run 12 Steps and 12 Traditions programs founded on the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous.

How Can It Help?

The main objective of Fam Anon is to provide a platform by giving common support and offer a discussion where you can share your problems and experiences for those people especially family members and friends who are present, suspected or previous drugs and liquor addicts. This group facilitates our members to figure out that how to grapple with the issues which are disturbing and affecting your lives.

Families Anonymous (FamAnon) is a universal support group fellowship of families and friends experiencing loved one's drug addiction distressing effect. A few Los Angeles families started Fam Anon in the United States in 1971 and adopted 12 Steps of Alcoholic Anonymous as their core principles. In UK, the first Fam Anon group began in 1980 and the number has grown to 50 groups located in different parts of the country.

The major aim of this group is to handle and help people especially families and friends who have drugs issues. It provides ways for these individuals to find a sense of serenity and to put their lives back together.

There are different operating methods in Families Anonymous. It first and foremost quality originates from sharing of normal issues. Memberships and meetings are all completely free. Fam Anon does not request or acknowledge any financing from different outside organisation. The office is staffed by volunteers and funded by the sales of Fam Anon literature and by voluntary contributions given at the meetings.

Only first names are used in gatherings, as FamAnon is an anonymous programme.

In the FamAnon meetings, participants learn how to live with the issues that are disturbing their lives.

For people attending these meetings and groups is an amazing approach to help them and grapple addiction issue. This approach helps them to understand that they need to live without using drugs and alcohol.
